Personal Information At BeST, we collect contact details when you register for our course. This information will be used for administrative and identification purposes only, and will not be shared with our partners or third parties. You will be asked personal information each time you login, to verify your identity. If someone else uses your login information, you are automatically locked out from your account. Consequently, you should keep your user id, PIN, registration details, and secret information confidential. Personal information is stored on BeST computers and is only accessed by authorised RCSI/IntuMed personnel. Tracking Information Tracking information regarding completed tutorials and test performance is held purely for your benefit. BeST may aggregate tracking information across all users (not focusing on any one individual), to create a broad picture of our population. The information is used to continually refine our course and to identify the strengths, weaknesses, and difficult testing areas. The information is also used to generate statistics such as number of users or volume of traffic. We reserve the right to release account information where it is required or permitted by law. Your E-mail address Your registration details and e-mail address is used for administrative and identification purposes. Your e-mail address will be provided to your online Tutor to better respond to your queries. Additionally, at registration, you have the option of receiving information on further medical training products, changes to the BeST site or enhanced functionality. Your e-mail address will not be rented, sold, or traded with other companies. IP Address BeST logs IP addresses and user activity levels as preventative measure against piracy. We may also use this information to determine the total number of visitors to our websites. Security and Continual Network Supervision The Registration, Secrets, and Payment sections of BeST use software on its secure server which encrypts your information before it is transmitted to us. BeST’s network administration team constantly monitors our security systems to make sure that your personal information is safe and secure. Although attempts by unauthorised users to break into our system are rare, we work hard to ensure that our security systems use the latest technology to prevent unauthorised attacks. Bulletin Boards and Tutorial Discussions BeST hosts discussion groups in the course environment. Any information divulged in this area may be observed by other students and should not be considered secure. Messages you post on the Bulletin will carry your full name as entered at registration time. BeST tutors and moderators will monitor all messages and have full authority to edit or refuse to publish any message that may be inappropriate. They may also amend or comment on messages that are medically inaccurate. Surveys and Questionnaires At BeST, users may be asked to answer surveys or questionnaires. The information you supply will be aggregated across all users (not focusing on any one individual), to create a broad picture of our population. This information is also used to better our customer service and to improve the product. Encrypted Credit Card Details The credit card you use to purchase BeST is encrypted as it passes on a secure online environment to an e-commerce specialist who will verify your details and authorise payment. Neither RCSI nor its agent, IntuMed has any access to your credit card details. Use of Cookies BeST uses only one cookie, which simply informs your browser that you are logged in to BeST. Links to Other Sites BeST chooses its advertisers and business partners carefully. BeST, however, is not responsible for the content or privacy practices of the websites operated by third parties that are linked to our websites.
